The Eternal Emperor and His Terracotta Warriors is the making of the Chinese Empire, the magnificent First Emperor himself, his colossal tomb complex that he accidentally discovered in 1974 with its magnificent terracotta warriors, and the legacy of his reign in China. For the first time in Switzerland, the Bernie Historical Museum has exhibited an entire group of terracotta warriors.

A gleaming crane in flight - a symbol of eternal life in China - welcomes visitors. In this part of the exhibition, 8,000 silver panels represent the large number of warriors in Qin Shihuang's terracotta warriors. They appear to form tides of gleaming mercury, symbolizing the elixir of life. The black central exhibition structure provides an abstract interpretation of the Mausoleum of Qin Shihuang. The structure's geometry supports the main theme: the slope of the ramp emphasizes Qin Shi Huang's life and rise to power, his creation of a unified Chinese Empire, and ultimately his death.

The imposing figure itself is displayed in the bright treasure room. The soft chimes of bells and the voices of samurai set off the mysterious atmosphere in the hall. The fascination with Qin Shihuang and his era is further illustrated through additional media animations and graphic installations. Chinese shadow puppetry was the inspiration for the exhibition's color scheme.
