M9 is a specialized multimedia museum and the first Italian museum without objects: this exhibition is built around video, photography, graphics, and documentary materials found in over a hundred Italian archives, which may better describe the living conditions, habits, and culture that our country has experienced in the past century than anything else. M9 Karmachina collaborated with Engineering Associates to design Part 1, "Our Past and Present Ways: Population and Social Structure," and Part 6, "Res Publica: The State, Its Institutions, and Politics.
In order to describe the complexity of the extensive demographic, social, and political changes involved, according to the curators of the museum, we have decided to approach our part by juxtaposing two different dimensions: macro and micro, public and private, collective and private intimate. According to Anthropometry changes, migration flows, traditional changes, war experiences, and economic or political changes, the analysis of a nation, its history, and various statistical data is presented together with personal experiences. These two different dimensions lead to different display and Interaction design, and also affect the selection of archive materials and the way of content processing.

M9 Museum in Italy

M9 Museum is built to inherit the culture of the 20th century. It is located in Mestes, the mainland gateway to Venice. This project has opened up the central area once occupied by military institutions and created a series of new public spaces. The "trail network" woven by multiple pedestrian trails has become the characteristics of the community, Let this museum area be embedded in the urban fabric of Mestes. The footpath between Ferreto Square and Kapuchina Street is full of shops, cafes and restaurants, attracting and guiding tourists through the whole building complex to the "Museum Square" in the center.

The three great group portraits of Italians in 1901, 1961 and 2011 point to the demographic changes, while the six "magic mirrors" show tourists how people's appearance has changed even through the hypothetical backward Time travel. The large projection projects the main immigration and immigration routes, while first-hand information on men and women who left their countries of origin during the 20th century is now displayed on the desktop. Interactive Infographic can better understand the data of birth, growth and death in Italy from the early 20th century to the present, while the screen mosaic on the opposite wall is inspired by the picture frame of family photos. From the perspective of Italian feelings and their emotional reactions to these events, the same problem exists.

In order to describe the great wars of the last century and emphasize the continuity and close connection between these events, we have decided to create a single environment in which we can unfold the narrative of a phenomenon called war, which has never been more comprehensive than it is now. Just like at that time. Installations inspired by trenches, African deserts, Air raid shelter and military cemeteries describe the First and World War II and the colonial conflict in Italy. On the political stage, holograms of great 20th century political leaders alternate, while the audience is surrounded by 360 ° projection and 3D audio environments, providing a diachronic description of the relationship between individuals and politics that changes over time. In a private environment based on prison visitation rooms.

The first and sixth parts of the M9 Museum are completed with additional content and gaming experience, and visitors can access them by swiping entry tickets on special readers. This includes a couple game with archive footage, placing items in immigrant suitcases, and magical mirrors through which we can try to understand what our ancestors must be like, becoming the core of the entire narrative: what better way to achieve this than mixing our own faces in?
